- Hello there! My name is Ma Rainey but my maiden name is Getrude Pridgett... i love to dance and sing those things are what I live for. I am a famous african american blues singer, you know i was born in to a real show biz family. In 1900 was my first real performance, at 14 I did fantastic! have you ever heard of Ma Rainey Black Bottom? Yupp thats me dancin' and a singing. Wow these good days... i've also been called the "mother of blues". My most popular songs are... Black Dust Blues and Black Eye Blues.
We have as many differences as we have similarities! We both come from very different parts of the country, so life as a child was very different. I never performed with my family, though they did support me. Also we work in two completely different parts of the entertainment business. You graced the world with your voice, and i would not dare to sing if my life depended on it. My forte has always been in acting.

ReplyDeleteOur differences in life is that we have totally different genres in music. You sing blues. Also I wasn't only a singer, i was also an actress and I did radio for a long time. Also our backgrounds are different. Our races are different and that plays a large role in getting a career in the entertainment buisness.
